94. Something I don't know about yet but which will have to be done #4. Review gas/electricity tariff.

The utility company raised my monthly payment from £55 to £63 a very few months ago, and it's going up to £87 from Jan 1st. My monthly fuel use is down by 10-20% this Sep-Nov from last year.

EDIT: BTW, Cambridge/likely to see people - I bought an electricity monitor and now I'm done having fun switching things on and off and watching the numbers change, I wondered if anyone would like a go? The sensor clips around the cable from your meter, you can carry the receiver unit around with you.

EDIT2: Looking through my utility paperwork I see a letter from them on 23 Nov saying they're increasing the payment from £63 to £77. Then there's one on 1 Dec about the increase to £87. It's a bit bleedin' ridiculous.

EDIT3:
Feb 2011: £26/month
Apr 2011: £55/month
July 2011: £63/month
Dec 2011/Jan 2012: £77 then £87/month

I'm sorry to keep adding edits, but my jaw keeps dropping and hitting the keyboard.

EDIT4: Switched. What's the betting that my current provider will stretch things out as long as possible, and I'm back here next July banging on about the £200 they owe me?

EDIT5: If I switch before 15 Jan my current provider will make a £10 cancellation charge. Sigh.
