(relating to a ominously-bulging tin of spaghetti)
Yonks ago, like 1994 or something, I went to Inconsequential and entered the "Sadiators" competition. After fierce heats of obstacle courses, three-legged races, pillow fights while standing on benches, and the endurance test of holding a traffic cone at arm's length, I was astonished to end up the winner! My trophy was an Incoceivable! mug ("Knows where fun is and how to get there by taxi") and a tin of Gladiators spaghetti shapes (like the telly tournament with the big cotton buds etc), which I have proudly had on display ever since. But now I look at the spaghetti, and the tin is bulging ominously. And when I shake it I hear the noise of air, which there shouldn't be. It is labelled "Best Before Jul 95", and I don't plan to argue with that! Time to dispose of my hard-earned award.
I am also taking this opportunity to purge my trophy shelf of another prize, the Mars Bar I won at a MiScon for being on the same quiz team as Dave Langford and
drplokta. I heroically didn't eat it for about 8 years, and now it has become curiously imploded.
And that is today's news from Bridget's Interesting Life.
