bugshaw at 11:08am on 26/05/2006I'm looking after the gerbils Midnight and Moonbeam for K this half-term week; they have just arrived, and look so tiny in comparison to Heidi Hulk Hamster. Midnight is black, with a streak of white under his chin like a tiny anti-beard; Moonbeam is a speckly grey-brown. If I had done sufficient wrangling of Flickr or LJ-scrapbook, I could show you photos.
They have recovered from their arduous 10-minute car journey, and begun the usual Gerb-Jitsu fighting over the water bottle. "I want a drink!" "Sod off, I was here first!" "Hey - if I put my paw on your nose, I can shove you out of the way!" "You rotter! Two can play at that game!" And indeed they do.
As M&M are here on holiday, I want to make them little gerbil deckchairs, with little gerbil towels to lay over them ;-) For the time being, they have to make do with the cardboard tube out of a kitchen roll - and jolly good fun it is, too. EDIT (12:24): There is no more tube.
