bugshaw at 03:32pm on 04/09/2008Win! I have signed up for the Spanish Improvers course. I learnt Spanish for a couple of years at school, found it quite easy, but have forgotten a lot of it since. This course conveniently picks up at about the stage I'm at now, and ought to refresh me to the level I reached before :-) I've bought a copy of the book (Pasos) they used in the beginner class, to get me up to speed. Only 1p from Amazon.
Win! Have had an excellent few CNPS days. I spotted car numbers 427 and 428 yesterday. Today I went to town via a corner of road that sometimes has a 429 on it, not today though, but as I went to cross the road a 429 drove right up to me and paused, flashing its lights, for me to cross :-)
Win! Also spent a happy few minutes photographing young conkers, their swelling green cases contrasting with the rusting horse chestnut leaves. Didn't come out well though.
Win! I move back to my house soon! Wednesday at the latest.
Finishing in the middle of the pack! The Carlton Arms quiz night, which was quite funny. Our encyclopedic knowledge of the Spice Girls was not enough to make up for our team's failings in GB Olympic Medal Winner Recognition.
FITMOTP! After nearly two weeks of no driving lessons, I'm getting the spring back in my step and in my brain. I feel human again! Please let this continue...
Fail! Went to pick up Film Festival tickets, ostensibly the easiest part of the process. Except they noticed that 13 of 19 tickets were at the higher non-member price. Cue the usual scene where more and more people accrete around a computer screen, sucking air through their teeth and saying "I've never seen it do that before." They've now been cancelled, refunded, and rebooked, a process which took much longer than I was anticipating so I was late for lunch with JGD. Charlie Chan duck soup noodle was hearty but insipid, but the steamed pork buns were delicious.
