A big chunk of the Clarke Award shortlist; fave so far is Zoo City. A failing in my appreciation of sf is a recent tendency to lose interest when people have some technological/biotech thing and transcend. They have wonderful new experiences beyond my comprehension, but I'm more interested in the people left behind and how they react. And at last I have lost my Georgette Heyer virginity. But I'm sure she wouldn't put it like that. As a blushing maid, I slipped between her covers, perhaps.

After reading Farthing, I dreamt that Jo gave me a canteen of cutlery, none matching.

I didn't get out to the cinema much, and LoveFilm mostly brought tv drama for tamaranth. I'd like to see Source Code and Submarine soon.
