live_gerbils were being very quiet today, not even coming out for feeding time, and when I investigate I found them both in the jam jar. Fat Gerbil had passed away, and Nervous Gerbil was curled up with him looking at me like "But we always sleep together! I don't understand!" *sadface* 2 years 9 months is not a terribly short life for a gerbil, and by Jove (by Jird?) he did seem to enjoy it. And eat it. I have been looking back at the photos on the live_gerbil blog, where they were so young and slim.
Tank cleaning tomorrow before work. I wonder if Nervous Gerbil will have a personality shift?
