The trip to London on Saturday for the BSFA/AGM mini convention/AGM was successful for me physically, including two train journeys, two tube trips (standing), 5 hours sitting in the lecture theatre and 4 in the pub afterwards. My back is - not fine, quite, but tentatively ok (but sometimes it takes 24-48 hours to react) but my wrists and elbows really ache. What's with that? Nice to see old friends, sorry to not see some of you.

Sunday being a day of rest according to my lapsed religious and now cultural heritage, I have a list of things To Do. cut )

When I have wanted to watch a video instead of Freeview channels, I unplug the SCART lead from the Freeview box and stick it in the VCR instead.

Today I have gone round the back of all the boxes and tried to work out how to connect things so that I can watch tv, DVD or VCR without unplugging anything, and can video things from the Freeview box - I connected the VCR and Freeview box together and I was going to go "I'm still stuck" but then I switched the third SCART lead for an inconveniently short spare one and found the problem had been in the lead all this time, and all is now good! Pilates video, Doctor Who, back to Pilates video. It's only taken 3 years to fix.

Still not sorted out how to tape things from broadcast, but that can wait for another day.
