We played old 45s and said it's like the soundtrack to our lives
Meme time. If your life were a movie, what would the soundtrack be?
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool...
1. Opening Credits: Lights Out, Broadcast
2. Waking Up: Toes, Norah Jones
3. First Day At School: We Are Normal, Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band
Truly. You couldn't make this stuff up.
4. Falling In Love: What Am I To You?, Norah Jones
5. Fight Song: I Wish I Had An Evil Twin, The Magnetic Fields
Stop ROFLing so hard at the back there. You might hurt yourselves, and I will not be held responsible. (It was my twin that did it)
6. Breaking Up: I Try, Macy Gray
I try to say goodbye and I choke :-(
7. Prom: Cop That Shit, Timbaland feat. Missy Elliot
Crikey! I'm glad I didn't have a prom.
8. Life: Airbag, Radiohead
"In an interstellar burst I'm back to save the universe"
So, look out universe. You're on a warning.
9. Mental Breakdown: Sarah, Madness
Ooh, that's my sister's name.
10. Driving: Mexican Standoff, Elbow
I'd not listened properly to the lyrics of this one before, and was wondering how it would relate to driving. "He'd look ideal 'neath the wheels of a car" Ahem. Good job I don't have a licence :-)
11. Flashback: Numanoid Hang-Glide, Half Man Half Biscuit
Oh my god, what was I on????
12. Getting back together: Children Of The Revolution, Kirsty MacColl
"Children of the revolution make a brand new start, running through the rubble of a thousand broken hearts"
Breaking up is hard to do, but getting back together can be much harder.
13. Losing your Virginity: Super-Electric, Stereolab
Catchy tune, but the lyrics are quite disturbing in context. Might ask the person doing the soundtrack to rethink their choice on this one. Would be more suitable to losing your virginity to someone who was cute and fun but terrifying batshit mental (though you don't know that at the time).
14. Wedding: Ali Baba's Camel, Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band
"How he loved the camel and the camel loved him too"
Oh, that's quite sweet :-) And the bride comes down the aisle on - is that a dromedary?
15. Birth of Child: Army Of Me, Björk
16. Final Battle: Bones, Radiohead
Ouch. I'm not going to be winning this final battle. "crippled and cracked shoulders wrists knees and back ground to dust and ash crawling on all fours"
17. Funeral Song: Não Esperando, Kirsty MacColl
"She's not waiting any more (não esperando seu amor) Now the sun is up the dream has flown away."
18. End Credits: Number Three, They Might Be Giants
"There's just two songs in me and I just wrote the third"
Hey, I'm going to be a trilogy?
