Interview Meme
I'm doing this again, as the questions seem to have gotten shorter and sillier ;-)
grahamsleight (thanks) asks:
1. What is that thing you're holding in your left hand in your LJ icon? A paintbrush? A stick of celery?
It's a Cadbury's Flake. Not a spliff! (Ref)
2. Of all the conventions you went to on your TAFF trip, which would you most like to return to? (Assume money no object.)
They were so different! I'd like to spend another few days at DeepSouthCon chatting with people, it felt as comfortable as sitting in a living room.
3. Just after the Glasgow Worldcon, Cheryl Morgan pointed out that (I forget the exact figures) there were 1,000 subscribers to Emerald City but 100,000 to Waterstones's sf newsletter. How does fandom reach the 100,000?
Brand recognition and prevalence. Fandom™ needs to become a market leader!
4. What piece of music is currently (or was most recently) playing in your house?
I am delighted to reveal that it is Mr. Slater's Parrot, a song by those god-like beings The Bonzo Dog (Doo Dah) Band.
5. What's the etymology of the "bug" name?
"Entomology" would have been a more fun question, but I wouldn't know the answer to it ;-)
Because I cause computers to not work?
Because I cause irritate programmers?
Because it is nice and short and fits on con badges?
Because I was never that keen on "Bridget", even before the Bridget Jones phenomenon? (Years at school of Bridget the Midget and Bridget the Fidget jokes will do that for you)
Because I was young, and foolish, and it seemed like a good idea at the time?
If you would like some questions, ask me one below.

I am delighted to reveal that I heard the (surviving members of the) Bonzos perform that very number, amid numerous others, only last week as ever was. With Ade Edmondson and Phill Jupitus assisting. Huzzah!
