Mmm, crackling...

Went to buy sandwiches for the office today, and found there was a Farmers' Market in Peterborough market square, so we all had hot roast pork rolls with stuffing, crackling, and apple sauce. Yum. (Don't tell the [livejournal.com profile] fat_fangirls)

I would recommend the market to [livejournal.com profile] hawkida and [livejournal.com profile] tobesv but along with the hog roast and the inevitable jam mountains, the main stock was, er, saucisson, chorizo, interestingly-spiced processed meat tubes etc etc. And ostrich.

Sounds great. How often does this Farmers Market operate?

I wish I knew. It was a surprise to see it there. If I'd known, I could have planned better for a sudden influx of fresh meat whereas instead I could only buy 7 kinds of chorizo-type sausage (flavoured with beer, clove, farmhouses etc). If I find out about another, I'll let you know in case it coincides with your good lady coming on one of her day trips to Peterborough.

I think it happens three or four times a year. It's on today, tomorrow, Sunday and Monday, apparently.

Thank you. I've just been into town, bought some pate and had a roll from the hog roast stall for lunch.
