TV Guideless

I went out on Sunday to buy a television listings magazine for that week. However, the only ones available were for 23 Dec onwards. "No matter," I thought, "I'll be able to guesstimate pretty well from that."

Except that I went out last night and missed the second part of Hogfather. Huh? Sky did a "next on Hogfather" thing, but I don't remember them saying it would be tomorrow; I'd been assuming it would be next Sunday evening.

You can catch part 2 again on Boxing Day. The whole thing is being repeated on 25th/26th on Sky One at 1pm, then again on 27th/28th on Sky Two at 7pm, then again on 30th/31st on Sky Two at 3pm.

Phew! Thanks!

I should also mention for future reference, that you can get on-line TV listings at http://www.radiotimes.com/, it's free, but you do have to register.

I can get them through my Sky box too, but the interface is so fiddly I can't be bothered.

The Sky box electronic programme guide has an appalling interface. I use a program called Digiguide for listings, it costs £8.99 for a year but it has beautiful interface for showing what's on, searching for shows by name, season, even episode number, searching for shows by actor too. I used the Radio Times listing briefly when I was having trouble re-registering Digiguide, and also when I was trying out the Palm version.

It's On Again Anyway

Doh!2 - as I would have known, had I but looked in the aforementioned guide to the television of subsequent weeks.

Bummer.

www.radiotimes.com

If you register (free), youcan customise the channel selection you see listings for.

And then I don't have to buy crappy listings mags full of gossip about soap operas!

Yes. There is no downside. ;o)

Phew! And now I feel less guilty for forgetting to arrange a recording :)

I love your new icon.

This ole' thing? See, I will be perfectly happy alone over Christmas as long as I try to ignore it

Or did you mean the Red Robot? ;-)
From dieselsweeties.com comic, which apparently means "robot boyfriends" not (as I first parsed it) "petroleum-based confectionery".

I love you ♥ ♥ ♥

A better online TV guide

[identity profile] palatinate.livejournal.com 2006-12-19 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I strongly recommend TVGuide (http://www.tvguide.co.uk/). It's online, no registration or messing about. But the best thing is that it not only has pretty much all cable channels on it, but you can configure which channels you're interested in and just get listings for those. I use it quite a lot at present.
