Yawn! I didn't expect to sleep in till 11am... kind of threw the day out.

I got a webcam for Christmas, and set that up. It's a laptop webcam so very cute and compact but the USB lead is fairly short - fine for a laptop but a bit of a stretch for my PC tower. The camera sits level with my mouse, and shoots me from an unflattering below-the-jaw angle... Simon managed to IM me but not from the magic cabin with webcam technology, and video streaming was blocked so he couldn't see me (even from the unflattering angle). Hopefully we will have Magic Cabin chat tomorrow! [home in 6 weeks]

I was delighted to open the present I assumed was an Arkham Horror expansion set to find it was actually Primordial Soup/Ersuppe! A lovely German game where you have amoebas, and feed them, and they evolve and each players finds they develop different competitive strategies. I've played it a few times with other people's sets, but it is great to have one myself! (I had been planning to buy Simon a set at Stabcon, but I guess I don't need to now!)

Lunch was a tasty sprout and chestnut stir fry with brown rice. Sprouts can be nice stir fried, if you shred them like tiny cabbages. It would have been better with sesame oil, out of which I ran a few days earlier. I don't know what I'll be having for dinner, I hadn't planned that far ahead! Carrot and chestnut soup, perhaps. I do like chestnuts. I think I'll avoid sprout soup, though.

I have watched and enjoyed Calendar Girls, and will watch Doctor Who with my dinner. Haven't actually started the tax return yet but do plan to!

Happy x-mas, everyone, where x=whatever you want it to be.

Ersuppe sounds interesting. I'll look around for it.

The brussel sprouts dish that Julie and I liked so much had them all shredded.

Happy Christmas I've got a feeling I may have played Primordial Soup once, as it sounds familiar, but it may have simply been described to me.

Anyway I got the Smile Time Angel, I'm thinking of keeping on my desk at work. :-)

Primordial Soup looks like this:

though I see some people have made modded amoebas. I am having creative thoughts about my miniature Cybermen...

Happy Christmas!

Miniature Cybermen? The game sounds fun. Should probably be distributed to schools as a teaching aid :)

Merry Xmas. It's Boxing Day here now.
