Usually my shoes give me blisters - they rub away at the skin on the outside of my heel.

But this time, I have given the shoes blisters! I've rubbed away the leather on the inside of their heel. Bwa ha ha!

(and time for new shoes)

You have fallen for the shoes' evil plans. The more pairs you destroy, the more new ones you'll have to buy, and the more blisters you'll get!

Actually, suggesting shoes can make plans anthropomorphises them way too much, now I've got the Fry & Laurie shoe shop sketch stuck in my head.

They have to plan for their survival. Have you noticed how many shoe shops have been displaced by mobile phone shops?

Have you noticed how many have been usurped by coffee shops? [livejournal.com profile] major_clanger may have a shiny new coffee shop to go to, but what those photos don't show you is that if they run out of cups then your grande latte is served in an army boot.

They take turns to play bartender in what used to be the bar but they now call "The Tuck Shop". MC spent yesterday evening serving people cans of pop :-)

I'm still wearing the shoes I wore out two months ago. I'm about a size 12 or 11 wide, so it's difficult to find a pair that fits comfortably and doesn't look ridiculous. I tried to find the shop I bought this pair from but it had closed down, so I've replaced the inner soles again and superglued the cracks in the outer soles. One day I'll try Hari Seldon's solution for this problem and buy a lifetime supply when I find an item of clothing I like.

I'm on my fourth pair of these, even though I have to go to Peterborough for them.
