The washing machine is letting water onto the floor.
The tumble dryer's door does not close properly, and blows hot air into the room.
These two effects do not cancel each other out in any meaningful way.

I have repaired it, though. The repair was needed after a slight overfill caused water to run down the electrical harness connecting to the motor and thus shorting out the motor connector. Yay hooray for the GFCI (aka RCD) outlet which I'd installed, which tripped just as it should. And yes, when I rewired the washer, I ensured that any future leaks won't zorch anything.
