Well, if the goats' cheese does turn out to be OK, you could try the shortbread experiment again with goats' butter - quite a few supermarkets sell it now.

Seconded, I use goats' butter for baking when my stomach's not having a "WAH take the dairy away I don't care what it is!" week. There's even goats' cream :)
