Since Thursday's post I have collected 4 x 8-litre buckets of "grey water"! That wasn't too difficult. We have a big green plastic container thingie like a basket with small handles and firm but not rigid sides, and I've been chucking water into that since Thursday. Today I transferred it to the grey bucket and doused the hedge :-)

O happy hedge!

[I am irresistibly reminded of [livejournal.com profile] matociquala's icon, "Please move along. We are a hedge. Move along..."]

That's it then: rain at 3.00pm. It always happens when I do serious watering.

But hurray for wet hedges anyway.

I managed to stave off the rain, I hope!

I have also done some calculations. The water I saved in that massive 32 litre container cost me all of 4 pence originally.

Yup. No rain. Walked back from the Abbey Pool via the playground and the really sticky wet path--and it wasn't.
