We have a nearly complete run of SFX, up to #154. Is anyone interested in them? For reference, or for insulation, or to cut up and make fabulous collages from?

It's a pile around 1 metre high and weighs around 45 kilos, so I don't relish posting them!

Er, the best I can do is a definite maybe!

It rather depends on how the next Redemption hotel feels about door decorating...

(remember this icon? I tend to use if for fannish stuff, though I doubt if anyone except you gets the pun)

Yes I remember the icon! I liked the voles. The voles were good. And so logical!

I had hoped to clear the metre-high pile of magazines a bit sooner than February 2009, so I'll keep the offer open to others for now unless you have someone who could collect the mags. We can't bring them to Eastercon as the car will be wholly full of Foundation stuff that we're taking to Liverpool.

I'll keep Redemption in mind in the run up to it, and can probably bring 6-10 recent issues along.

That would be ideal.

[livejournal.com profile] watervole beat me to it. I'm sure the Teledu arts project would appreciate any spare issues.

Unless you find someone who actually wants to read the things, obviously.

I think Teledu gets dibs as it's happening first, if you have a volunteer to take them away from us?

I'll see if I can find a local Teledude to volunteer. Apart from "as soon as possible" when would you like to get rid of them by?

If they're still here on June 1st I'm inclined to put them in the recycling. But yes, "as soon as possible" would be great! I'll still wait and see if there's anyone who wants to treasure and read them, though.

Of course. I'll leave it a couple of days before putting this on the Teledu LJ, just in case someone offers them a better home in the meantime.

I can't collect them or anything, but if you can get them here out of your way I can hold them in storage beyond the 1st June. I wouldn't mind taking them myself if the cons hadn't already claimed them!

Just to add - that'd be to cut 'em up myself rather than to treasure them as such.

I don't think any of the cons really want 150-odd issues! We'd be happy to drop them round some time, then you can have some and cons can have some (and we can go for dinner?)

That would be cool... but when? I'm away the next two weekends and not home on Tuesdays, either. This Wednesday I should be at the pub but could miss it, and Thursday is free. Next week I have Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. I might have a weekend after Easter but it depends on when my mum gets married (it's back to happening over here instead of Singapore, now).

As I said to [livejournal.com profile] pingopark, any time up to June would be fine :-)

Shall we look at dates after Easter?

Sorry, I've been meaning to get back to this a bit sooner. If you can get them to Peterborough and [livejournal.com profile] hawkida is happy to store them that would be ideal.

As you say, I'm sure there is plenty for [livejournal.com profile] hawkida, Teledu, Redemption and anyone else who might want a few issues.

If this is ok with you, I'll leave you and [livejournal.com profile] hawkida to sort out the details and see if I can arrange something with [livejournal.com profile] watervole about getting the remainder to her at or after Teledu.

Hmm. I got rid of most of my copies of SFX when I moved in with Kate, and there is a part of me that says "not necessarily a good idea, you could do with access to them for research, why not take this opportunity?" And another side that says "don't be silly - where are you going to put 150 issues of SFX?"

Can I mull this over/talk to Kate and get back to you? If I do decide to take them, Kate will be bringing a car up on Saturday, so we'll clear them then.

I have mused, and unfortunately for you, the thought that I can find better things to do with a metre of shelf space has won out over the thought that it might be nice to have something like that readily available.

Do you have any of the special issues? If so I will glady thake those off your hands.
