I get my hands on some US Letter-sized paper - just thirty sheets or so, so I can do an APA cover. Does anyone in the UK have some stash they could pass me, probably at Eastercon? Thin card would be even better.

Could you fake it with A3 and a guillotine?

In a pinch, but it's not ideal.

Alternatively, "This cover is not too big, and if anyone disagrees I'll chop their head off!"

It is annoyingly hard to buy ANSI paper sizes in the UK, you can try here on Amazon, but most of the useful stuff is marked as limited availability and can't be ordered.

We don't even have any 44 inch rolls here in the office that could be cut to into letter size chunks, despite the fact that HP keep lending us 44 inch base plotters.

Aargh! LJ's comment posting seems to be a world of wrong right now.

I'll try making it drink a glass of water backwards.

I expect we've got some, but won't be at Eastercon :-(

Perhaps some itinerant American might fetch you some?

I can't promise to do more than look, but I think I might have a stash of US Letter paper somewhere. If I have, and I find it before the Eastercon, you may have it all as I have no use for it.

I could email USian-about-to-leave and ask them to bring some? Particular weights, colours? If I don't hear in the next couple of hours I'll suggest 160gsm white card.

Great! The APA covers are not usually as heavy as 160gsm, something lighter weight would be good. White/cream/pale colour. Only about 20 sheets are needed - why can't I find zines now I need to look up the copy count?

Absolutely anything would do; perfectly plain ordinary paper would be fine.

If it's for Turbo, the copy count is 15. And maybe you could send it back with same USian?

(If you want to do this again some time, we could send some back after WisCon, too. I have lots of card stock in white and pale blue, plus a couple of other colors.)

My cover's not due till June, and won't be ready by the end of Easter!

For that matter, I could have the OEs tuck the paper in with your March APA. (Nope, not mailed yet.)

Not necessary for now - Simon has just picked up a ream of paper from [livejournal.com profile] fjm, and some slightly thicker stuff is coming with Bill Burns to Eastercon. My cover had better be good, after all this!

But yeah, that would have been an obvious solution, if only I'd thought of it...

I've got some plain white paper in American quarto. It's been sitting around for ages so you're welcome to have it. If you want it I'll bring it to Eastercon.

If quarto is the same as letter, I'd be happy to have some, thanks.

Unfortunately no. Quarto is 8 by 10, which is slightly smaller than government letter (8 by 10.5) but isn't the same as ANSI A a.k.a Letter which is 8.5 by 11.

So, not so good as a cover for a collation of Letter-sized pages...

I;ve got some, and it's too thick for my purposes (Kodak copy paper). I'll bring it to Eastercon.
