If my mouse were a hamster, I'd be taking it to the vet. It's not at all well :-(

It probably needs a new diode or something.

What are its symptoms?

It's an optical mouse. During normal mousing activity it sporadically relocates the cursor at top right or bottom left of the screen. It sometimes happens 2 or 3 times in a minute, and sometimes doesn't happen for 10 minutes.

I've wiped its eyes, but this has not helped.

Changed the surface you're mousing on (or polished it)?

That happened a few weeks ago, but it's not the case today. Maybe it's just getting old.

Dell supply patterned mouse mats because what indicates that any other mouse is on its last legs is just normal behaviour for theirs. :-(
