Had a nice lunch with [livejournal.com profile] la_marquise_de_ at The Green Dragon, I drank too much Diet Coke and we went on a Wild Spree to Toys R Us in search of an Eee! Bounce, bounce - my god some of these toys are scary and hideous. Technology section! Look, look, find chap. "Do you have any Eees?" Jaw drops. Mouth opens and closes, nothing comes out. Eyebrows waggle like a animatronic head doing range of motion testing. "The Asus Eee PC? Tiny laptop thingie? A friend said you could buy them here." Look of immense relief. "Oh, that. We call it The Tiny Little Computer. I thought you were trying to buy drugs!"

Collapse of all parties. Points me at Eee display stand. They are out of stock at the moment, but getting a fresh delivery on Friday, i.eee. tomorrow :-)

Ooh, my boss has an Eee and I have so much envy! I am thoroughly tempted to join you in an Eee-hunt. They're so dinky and great! :D

I do have one on order from Expansys, who after much hurdle-jumpening to get them to deliver it to me in Cambridge over Christmas have now given me a delivery date of early Jan. So you could wait a while and pick up that one... But there is a huge Want One Now! factor :-)

This is a bit off topic but I can't help thinking of Richard who refused to believe that the song by that well known beat combo, The Shamen contained drug references.

Also, I now understand what this eee thing is that you keep talking about.
