One event-free journey later, I am in Edinburgh only a little the worse for wear. I think if I'd had half the luggage, or an hour shorter a journey, I would be a good deal better.

[livejournal.com profile] sphyg, I didn't exhume the knitting needles for you, sorry. But I imagine there are many people in Cambridge who could lend you some.

[livejournal.com profile] ceb, I have taken the dress up to Edinburgh. I'll bring it back down if I can't find a suitable place to take it.

[livejournal.com profile] bugshaw, I have left your walking stick at Peterborough station because I am some flavour of numpty.

[livejournal.com profile] rmc28, the heap of books on the dining table is for you from [livejournal.com profile] ceb.

I think Edinburgh has grown steeper since I was last here, and it is with some trepidation that I survey my snow-covered walk to college.

It's cold; I'm in bed with an enormous snuggly duvet, my Eee (with which I wrote bits of TAFF report on the train) and WiFi :-)

1001 knitting needles available here; I have my grandma's entire collection and a bunch I found in a charity shop too.

Here's hoping your back behaves this term. Best wishes.

Would you like me to enquire at Lost Property regarding the stick? Not sure what I'll do with it if they give it to me, though...

Thanks, but I don't know if it's worth it. Lost Property would probably like to stop having it clutter up their room, but I don't know what you'd do with it. Keep it round the house in case you need it?

It is mahogany colour, with a black plastic handle that looks kind of like a cylinder bent into an S-shape. i.e. not a traditional semi-circular curved handle. I left it by a bench on Platform 4 near the ladies loos on Friday 4th January when I boarded the 11:46 to Edinburgh.
