One event-free journey later, I am in Edinburgh only a little the worse for wear. I think if I'd had half the luggage, or an hour shorter a journey, I would be a good deal better.
sphyg, I didn't exhume the knitting needles for you, sorry. But I imagine there are many people in Cambridge who could lend you some.
ceb, I have taken the dress up to Edinburgh. I'll bring it back down if I can't find a suitable place to take it.
bugshaw, I have left your walking stick at Peterborough station because I am some flavour of numpty.
rmc28, the heap of books on the dining table is for you from
ceb.
I think Edinburgh has grown steeper since I was last here, and it is with some trepidation that I survey my snow-covered walk to college.
It's cold; I'm in bed with an enormous snuggly duvet, my Eee (with which I wrote bits of TAFF report on the train) and WiFi :-)

It is mahogany colour, with a black plastic handle that looks kind of like a cylinder bent into an S-shape. i.e. not a traditional semi-circular curved handle. I left it by a bench on Platform 4 near the ladies loos on Friday 4th January when I boarded the 11:46 to Edinburgh.

See you soon?
