The planetary science book that I'm studying for the OU course this year has got all confused and half-edited about it and sometimes treats it as a planet and sometimes not. If you didn't know what had gone on, you'd be really confused.

It's a dwarf planet now, apparently. Not good enough to be a proper planet.

Not yet. Personally I feel sorry for the poor old Pluto Express probe; I mean, how would you feel if you were launched on a much-lauded mission to the outermost planet and then told nine months later that your target had been demoted and you were now headed for what was officially a rather large icy asteroid?
