I had a look at the files, and there's big artefacts at the start and end of each one which are audible, but the waveforms themselves aren't too bad. I'd challenge you to hear 21.1KHz if I faded it in and out so there were no blips at the start and end of the file.

i tried using the a test oscillator in Logic (the music package I use) on my good external audio interface at a 96KHz sample rate (just to make sure there was lots of headroom) and I can hear a smidgen over 17KHz, much above that and I couldn't reliably tell if the channel was muted.

I heard the start/end artefacts, but on my Eee (not my PC) I could hear something in between. I really doubt it's a good reproduction of the tone. I'll have the Eee at Eastercon, so you can listen to it and say "No, Bridget, that sounds like someone hitting a bin with a stick" :-)
