Next week, I will be mainly on holiday

Way hey! Sicily, here I come. Strictly speaking it's not my holiday but N the lodger's - but she has a lot of work on and can't go. So I get to go to Sicily on Friday, and she gets to stay home with [livejournal.com profile] georgianafelis and the [livejournal.com profile] live_gerbils and ensure that they continue to not meet. And do lots of exciting stuff with tax.

I had very few plans for next week, and it's half term so my evening classes aren't running, so it's great timing. All of a sudden Thursday looks very busy, as I try to pack in everything I would otherwise have done over the weekend. And what shall I pack? Stout walking shoes for visiting ruins, books, far more notebook paper than anyone could feasibly fill in a month, but do I bring my lace-making to finish off or my cross-stitch? I plan to be disappointed by the lace as I am incredibly ham-fisted with it (pesky tiny bobbins keep unwinding), but maybe a bit more practice will help :-(

Must look on Babelfish for Italian versions of "I can't eat milk/cheese/cream/butter/... - Is this dish okay for me?" and "I apologise profoundly for my inexecrable pronunciation."

Weeeeee!

(Take the cross-stitch. It's more manageable over a long distance)

Have fun! Try to see Agrigento and Selinus if you can - they're the best of the archaeological sites. I look forward to seeing pictures.
