Oh, shoot me now. I've just started a box called "Things that are broken but someone might be able to make something out of them some day." I should perhaps call it "Bin".

Unless anyone wants a plastic dalek whose paint job is suffering? I dunno, you could paint it pink and make it Barbie Dalek (thus infringing two sets of intellectual property at once!), or fill it with explosives and film your own FX sequence, or, or...

How big's the dalek?

I have not yet unpacked a ruler, so I took a photo of the dalek against an audio cassette for scale (if you're old) and an iPod (if you're young).

Cassettes and iPods are the same size! How cool is that!
LJ gave this particular picture the totally random filename '0001daft'

That's an awesome dalek! It would look quite good pink.

I could get it a little handbag to hang from its plunger :-)

Oh, and some tiny stick-on phone jewels to put some sparkle into its carapace!

I have a box marked "irreducible junk".

How big is the Dalek?

See above. Also has pull-back action!

We're pretty ruthless with broken plastic, to be sure. We also keep a box of stuff we would cheerfully bin if only it weren't for electronics-recycling rules; it goes to the tip every so often.

You might as well have a box rather than not -- you can always bin the whole box at some point in the future.

(Traditional quote. "...that she has a draw for string too short to use")

NO, don't bin it! I promise to add the contents of my 'found materials' box! (You will note some 'things that are broken but ... some day' items on your birthday card.)

The Sally Anne shop on Mill Rd will take almost anything.*
