Life hiccoughs up a bubble of busyness, but I do bring it upon myself. A few more cubic feet of stuff got cleared out today, as ex-tenant's family came to collect some things that got overlooked in the packing. I'm finding food for thought at the Film Festival. Good gerbil names have come to me; I've found once you name some potential thing it becomes much easier to go and get it. Visualisation of success, y'know? Dennis and Gnasher were my first thoughts, but I think I'll go looking for Nash and Gnasher. And possibly Charles. And pillowcases. I can't find pillowcases that match the duvet. And the sheet is too narrow, good for a double but not a king. And I shall not put the gerbils in the duvet cover, for holes would magically appear in the duvet cover as the gerbils whisper incantations to it quietly with their sharp gerbil teeth.

On Friday I have a driving lesson in an automatic, then sign on at the Job Centre across town, then back to the station and into London, and back up for a couple of films in the evening. I might live through this :-)

I like Nash and Gnasher. But I'm being careful not to say anything about gerbil names to squirrelmonkey. Otherwise the poor things would be Dennis and Gnasher whatever you call them. He was glad you wanted the gerbil ball, though he did remind me that Digger and Joe just used to sit in in frozen to the spot and only Gilbert ever got the hand of running around in it. Maybe it's more of a hamster thing.
When we went looking for our gerbils, we lacked names. We had only a stern determination that spidermonkey's one must have red eyes. (And preferably black fur, but he gave up on that in the face of biological impossibility.)
Good luck with the driving lesson. This is not the city I'd choose to learn to drive in, but at least you'll get good at not hitting the cyclists.

My typing sucks. Did that make any sense?

As much as mine usually does :-) Most gerbils have red eyes in photographs.

Most *children* have red eyes in photographs.
(But Spider's special gerbil, Digger, had crimson eyes and delicate apricot fur. He was cute. Too cute to last as long as his tougher, bigger brothers, sadly.)
