On a Train

This is a versatile userpic - ah, the infinite communicability of art :-)

I have a first class ticket for the journey up. I do not like first class; I have short legs, and a short body, and these generous seats do not suit me well - I like my back to reach the back of the seat and be supported by it. They gave me a hot dark brown drink, which tastes of coffee but smells of Bovril. I'm facing SouthEast, and watching the Sun gradually rise above the horizon. At 8am it was just visible; now it's maybe 5-10° high. I am glad for Wifi, as I left the house without directions for the hotel or times for all the legs of my journey.

First class is fine - just sit cross legged.

(I'm a shortarse too as you know ;-)

Never, never have the tea. The coffee may be bad, but the tea's worse.

I can't sit comfortably in standard class seats.

When I ended up in first class I was reading some giant book (a Stephenson flyswat maybe? or possibly Strange& Norrell). Sadly the arms are too far apart to let you support giant books, I had impressive arm-ache by the time I got home...

Ooh, I've never gone first class.
