Hiya,

It's the last day of my course and I'm walking a lot better, but won't be able to get from taxi-outside-Kings-Cross to train-to-Cambridge without assistance, and I can't get from the place where the taxi would drop me off to the place where I can ask for assistance without, well, assistance.

Are there any Londoners who might be able to help me out with this?
The ideal plan would be to meet me at Pemberton Row (off Fetter Lane) around 5pm, carry my bags and hail a cab to KX, come with me and carry them off at the other end. Otherwise, meeting me at KX should be okay.

I'm sure I'll find a way to manage otherwise, but it'll be slower and more painful and take a couple of days mobility off me.

TIA for offers! [I'm working in a basement with no phone signal]

if I could help I would, but it would involve me arrving by wheelchair, putting your bags on it and using like walking frame, a squeeze in the taxi (but only £1.50 due to my taxicard) and then a luggage trolley from taxi rank to gate of platform, and ask staff to assist from gate to train.

But if you don't get any better offers, let me know. I'd need to leave at 4 to get there by 5. It is doable.

Thanks, I think I'll take up [livejournal.com profile] adela_terrell's offer though. (Not least because I can't push luggage trolleys)

I'll do that, if you don't get a better offer (ie someone who doesn't have an asignment for the OU to hand in tonight that she hasn't started yet)

Just Looked up on the Map where the hell you are, I think I won't get too lost. (I live in London, I am good at lifting things, I have OK'd it with Wag to keep the kids if you need me)

Do you need to be met at Cambridge with a car? I can do that bit.

I was going to say that if no-one else can, I could try and slope off early, given that I worked really late night. But given that I worked late as there's a shed load to get done, and adela_terrell has volunteered, I'll get my nose down.

I'm proud of you. Asking for help when you really need it keeps you from being disabled. And what lovely friends you have as well.

Belated apologies for only just seeing this; it would have been a doddle for Him except that He's not at work today, and it's now 4pm so adela_terrell will have already set off from home to meet you.
If there's a crisis and she cancels then ring me on my mobile (you've got it I think) and we'll scoot to the rescue.
Hope the journey goes well.
