Having very bad luck with trains. On Monday when I went in to London, the train stopped at Hitchin because of a fatality further along the line. We inched along and made it there an hour late. Today I caught a train back from London, it developed a safety fault, and tipped us all out at Potters Bar to wait for a replacement. As the train had been crowded before, I was worried about getting a seat, but Tim (who I'd met for lunch then again on PB station) kindly elbowed his way on and found a lovely lady who gave up her seat for me. People can be jolly nice! I wouldn't want to ask, but, y'know, I really can't stand on the train and was contemplating the cab-from-Potters-Bar option - feeling more of a fraud because I think I walked 10 walked 8 miles today so am at my fittest-looking. (Think I saw
the_local_echo too, but tentative eye-catching was inconclusive)
Tower Bridge with
techiebabe was marvellous and had 2 million rivets, many of which I photographed.
Tomorrow I pack for Eastercon, and ache, and regret spending so much of this evening hanging around train stations instead of getting stuff done. Come to Eastercon! Volunteer! Vote in TAFF!
EDIT: It is tomorrow. I ache. I am really not looking forward to going to work on Tuesday.

Sorry to hear you had such bad luck with trains but at least you got a seat. It was lovely to see you, and I hope Eastercon is excellent and you manage to get a bit of rest in between Stuff Happening.
Photos online tomorrow, I hope!
