People who have no idea what TAFF is can support it by paying a donation and voting (though they have to vote for No Preference)

Er, huh? Since when? Maybe I'm just suffering from Crusty Former Administrator's Disease, but this seems a rather odd interpretation of the rules as stated on the ballot: "Voting in the 2009 race is open to anyone who was active in fandom prior to April 2007, and who contributes at least $3 or £2 to the Fund," means folks who have been in fandom since before April 2007 (and can demonstrate it by naming someone known to the administrator who can vouch for them) can vote for whomever they like so long as they make the minimum donation, whether they know what TAFF is or not. Being a currently active fan is also not a requirement for voting, so long as they have been active for some period prior to April of '07.

Sorry, I must be suffering from too much caffeine and codeine nearing deadline Administrator's Disease :-( Go read the ballot, folks!

I'm sure I read the interpretation somewhere, that >April 2007 fans could effectively make a donation using the ballot form. I'll edit, thanks.

In the 2006 race, I was active in fandom, but hadn't reached the two-year mark. So I cam up with the concept of "ineligible voter non-voting fee" and send the money in anyway. '…if we could get some more people to send in "ineligible voter non-voting fees", it would help the TAFF funds tremendously. I reckon there must be at least 50 million ineligible voters in [the UK], and I bet no more than 0.00002% of them will actually bother to Not Vote."
