Reading for pleasure

Just finished my first non-OU book for a couple of months - Octavia Butler's Kindred, uses time travel to create a first-person narrative of the conditions of slavery, but I shall say little else as it is for Book Club.

Later on, I had a fabulous moment in my sickbed when [livejournal.com profile] tamaranth pressed a Kombucha and gin cocktail into one hand, and another book into the other.

Never heard of Kombucha, it sounds lovely! Is it?

Sounds like everyone needs a [livejournal.com profile] tamaranth!

Kombucha is quite sweet and subtle, it probably tastes like something but I'm not sure what :-)

It would help if I updated it, I think! Ping and I'll join you, and do come along too if you like!

Could I borrow Kindred? Still need to come and visit anyway.

Yes, especially if you're likely to be done with it by Oct 17th so I can lend it to T? I'm not a fast reader, but got through it in pretty much a Saturday.

I also have your BSG to return!
