Hamster Consternation TAFF

Perhaps I'll call the hamster Linda Lovelace. Unsatisfied with sipping from her water bottle, she took the whole spout into her cheek pouch. Which is a lovely image for a Sunday morning.

Consternation is good; very heavily programmed for a games con but lightly for an sf con, including a panel (with [livejournal.com profile] major_clanger) about space as a setting for RPG campaigns. I had no idea there were so many real hazards involved in poking round a deserted star ship or space station, it makes yer Dungeons & Dragons traps look horribly contrived. Also played a game which unfortunately pressed some rather emotive buttons: billed as "'Abnormal for Norfolk': a team of doctors are presented with an unusual unconscious patient" my character was a PhD medical student with a dreadful supervisor, and the disease was reminiscent of my late hamster's infection - especially when the team got a load of infected mice :-(

On a lighter note than diseases of rodents, I now have the requisite five nominees for my TAFF candidacy! Next I need a platform - any suggestions for choice phrases? I'll try to avoid references to Deep Throating hamsters. [looks sternly at [livejournal.com profile] dougs]

It looks like I wont make it to Consternation today as I have something I can do without the hours drive up the M11. Have fun!

Will be thinking about your platform.

Heh! Is that a new "Beard of the Day" icon?

New Beard, New Icon.

Strangely I look more bald in pictures than I do when I look in the mirror - but in the mirror it seems a lot worse.

In my experience, hamsters approach the whole exercise from a completely different direction.

I'm sorry. I can't get past the Deep Throating Hamsters now.

It's the sort of thing it's surprisingly difficult to get past.

I think you need to control the gag reflex

It's no good, I can't help making bad jokes.

I think you should ask permission before you come up with them

I can't stop myself coming up with them, but I really should try not to ram it down people's throats.

Non-consensual humour can be a good thing.

Good luck with your platform. I'm horrendously bad at writing anything about myself that effectively says "This is me" and even worse if it's meant to be "This is me, please like me". And now it turns out I can't do "This is my friend", either.
