Hamster KitKat waddle

New hamster has a name now! After her fierce behaviour on the trip home we considered Valkyrie names, but didn't want to encourage her. Perhaps Demeter, the goddess of corn, grain and the harvest which she can carry around in her cheek pouches, but that is a bit of a big name for a little hamster. Now she's settled in she's a lot more timid and spends most of her time hiding in her box. So we're calling her Heidi. Which seems to suit.

Five years without milk products, but the old instincts are still there! Walking along the hall, I saw a KitKat lying on the bookcase. Without thinking, I picked it up and ate it. Bah! If this was a sting operation, [livejournal.com profile] major_clanger, it was not a very subtle one.

Went into London yesterday on the train with a bag full of papers, then spent the evening moving cardboard boxes first into the car and then into John D's garage. My back has mostly survived this exertion, but I do seem to be waddling today as my spine tilts to spread the strain :-(

Hi,

I don't think we've met; [personal profile] thalinoviel kindly pointed me your way as I am trying to find a home for some gerbils. I presume, with your new hamster, you won't be wanting more wee rodents, but if you are, I would be glad if you gave me a shout.

Good luck with Heidi!

Debbie

Hiya, I'm not ignoring you to be mean, I just can't think of a way to reply without saying Aw, gerbils needing homes! I'm sure we have space for some ;-)
