Gosh. Had I known that you'd (only just) read the Waldrop, I probably would have bent your ear about it yesterday. Is this the first of his that you've read?

It's my fourth, I think - after Strange Monsters, Bones, and Night of the Cooters. I was first introduced to his work through the Harrogate Mexicon, it's jolly good stuff.
