It's Friday, it's five to five and it's Crackerjack!

Okay, no it's not. There will be no strange men riding ostriches or small children being forced to hold cabbages in front of a live studio audience in this Livejournal. Unless they ask nicely.

It is, however, the weekend - the weekend of not working, the 60 hours where the laptop is shut in a drawer and the nurses are left to count themselves. Busy Month is going well, but the back is still dodgy and I'll be spending the weekend alternating between books and DVDs. [livejournal.com profile] damerell kindly demonstrated that one can get a weights bench and 35kg of weights from Argos to my house on a bicycle, I was astonished but it does seem to be true! For my next trick, some day, I will assemble it.

It's hot here. Something posessed me to make red curry for dinner, and I think it was a steam devil. *swelters*

So, what are you doing this weekend?

We've already had sports day and the school fair today. Tomorrow is get Jodie to a birthday party at noon then help set up and run the grills at a welcome back party in the evening for some friends who have just come back from New Zealand (they were hoping to emigrate but just didn't manage to get a well paying enough job to make a go of it). Sunday do essential laundry (uniforms and shirts) then fall over.

I used to love school fair, making stuff and carefully labelling it so your parents could dutifully come and admire and purchase it...

The kids favorite thing here was "sponge the teacher". The heat made it pretty popular with some of the teachers too, they were probably the coolest people there.

I'm packing. I think I'm making decent progress in that some things are going into boxes, others are going into bags to go to other people, others still are going into bags to go to the Red Cross / Salvation Army donation bins and the remainder is going into black plastic binbags and hence to the bin.

Although I haven't dared face the second clothing pile yet...

And I'm just about to have a baked potato for dinner.

Whee! Good luck and happy moving :-) I'm slowly getting rid of things through Freecycle. 3 1/2" disk boxes really aren't popular.

My mother is visiting, so I shall be Cleaning the House.

But then the Outlaws are coming round and we are going to a concert. Tomorrow, maybe Open Studios, who knows?
