If you phone up Hello magazine, do they say "Hello!"

And if you phone Ok!, do they say "Hello!" but with a small twinge of resentment?

*laugh*

I would imagine Ok say "Yes? What?!" in an annoyed shrill manner.

And Hello would have a voicemail message recorded by Leslie Phillips.

I've heard of Which but not of What...

And if they phoned up the band that chap out of Buzzcocks created, they could say "Hello, Magazine? Hello Magazine!"

According to Alexander Graham Bell, the original greeting when answering a telephone was meant to be "Ahoy!"

No, *I* don't know why I remember weird stuff like this either.

Presumably if people did answer the phone with "Ahoy!" then Ahoy! magazine would still be in business :-)
