See if a local comprehensive can use the NewScis in their science department? That's how I got to know about the magazine, back in my Youf.

I could indeed. I'll ask Kate S initially, she works in a Sixth Form College. I first got into New Scientist at school, they had a student rate reduced subscription and about 20 of the 200 VI-formers got a copy. Which is bloody loads, now I think about it. This was the posh school though, my age 11-16 school didn't have New Scientists.

Luckily, at our 'formerly grotty but starting to pull out of it' comp. we had a parent who was a scientist in the path. labs at Addenbrookes, hence donated NewScis.
