Parallel ports and round mouse sockets

I'm plugging in the PC before the PC before last. I wonder if it will work?

If the Internet works I think the easiest way to get data off it will be emailing zip files to myself.

There may be an edit later asking if anyone wants a Win95 machine, or I'll try FreeCycle.

Here I am, back in history, on the old Win 98 machine with Office 95 and IE 5. I appear to have cleared most of my old documents from it already, very foresighted.

Anyone want?

Ah no, there's megs on the D, E, F drives. And gmail doesn't work in IE5.

If it's windows 95 I'd guess it doesn't have USB and may still have the old AT card slots, which could be seriously limiting.

Sorry, Windows 98 - better, but incompatible boards might still be a problem.

No USB, yes floppy drive!

Networking? I have serial and possibly even a parallel link cable somewhere..

Although tbh the easiest way of getting data off it is probably to take the drive out and put it in another machine temporarily.

Poking around on my current machine, I find I did cunningly transfer everything across at the time - hurrah!
