Paper shuffling

I have nearly finished sorting the household/financial papers. They got in a big old muddle with the move to Edinburgh and back via two addresses, and letting the house out, but five more categories and it will be Done and in a System in a Cabinet with Labels. Then I'll be in a good position to do my tax and think about comparing gas/electricity prices with other suppliers. (Still have work and fanzine/fandom papers in massive heaps though)

I've bene reading a bit this weekend - I forget who recommended Cormac McCarthy's The Road but I pelted through it in a couple of hours last night.

I'm reading Charles Stross's The Fuller Memorandum now, and though I would love there to be another Laundry novel to read straight afterwards I can't but hope Bob gets a bit of a break in between! Only 100 pages in, anything could yet happen.

I think I suggested The Road for book club a few months back. I've got the DVD here on rental but am still trying to get in the right mood to watch it.

I was going to ask if the book was less bleak than the film! I did not enjoy the latter.

I thought they were as bleak as each other. Didn't particularly like either of them. Meh.

The book has plenty of "Close your eyes boy, if you see something it goes into your head forever". I think I'd want to close my eyes throughout the film.

Trinity Estates, you are still a non user friendly bunch of people to deal with paying.

I'm still trying to work out if we've over/underpaid and how on earth their accounts work.

I found a letter explaining about expenses going up saying there was an invoice enclosed which WE MUST PAY. I paid it. Looking at it most closely, it's a credit note for "account adj"
