101.22 Fix the printer

Or to be more precise, "22. Get the flipping printer flipping well working."

I have made progress - giant displacement activity first, including dusting it, dusting the window and blinds, moving the giant printer trolley out and vacuuming under it, including finding a couple of old moth cases in the carpet.

I've got it to warm up and print test pages, which it seems quite happy with after a couple of crunchings and [livejournal.com profile] bugshaw learning how to sort printer jams. And that's as far as I've ever got with it since I stopped living with [livejournal.com profile] major_clanger, it used to be a super networked thing that you could use to print from any machine in the house (even the hoover!) but now I plug leads between it, my PC and the router in various combinations, but the best I've managed has been plain text bbutt veerryy sttuutterrryy.

Ah well, a new year, a fresh attack. Perhaps I will prevail this time!

Oddly the one I bought off major_clanger when he left which was similarly whizzy has never done anything for me but print **very tiny print**... sigh!

I feel you both may be in need of better after-sales service.

Would it be in bad taste to joke "Would you buy a used wife from this man?"

I think this userpic says it all regarding that...

Perhaps not so much if one _is_ the ex-wife in question.
