Traffic safety

I was walking across the road this afternoon, and a motorcyclist kindly stopped to give way to me. Which he bloody well should do as he was riding on the FRICKIN' PAVEMENT! What is this - Cambridge Cyclists: The Next Generation? shudder

November 1997, Eastfield Road, Peterborough, coming back from the fish and chip shop at about 7pm I had my white cane ripped from my hand and broken by a motorbike that rode straight across in front of me. Learner plates with passenger, so I'm afraid nothing new.

Blindpew and Rebel heading down the pub for a beer festival committee meeting and a few good Wye Valley Ales.

That sounds like an interesting case of Good news/Bad news!

Was it a real motorbaike, or a phut-phut (moped or scooter)? The latter seem to think anything that might be a bicycle lane is for them.
The marquis says 'real bikers use the road'. Pavements are dangerous!

Real one - came out of a little off-road parking area, turned right onto the pavement, then right again (still on the pavement) to park on the pavement outside a shop on Mill Road.

So he didn't go far, and he didn't go fast, but he popped out of a blind corner onto the pavement which made me very nervous as to what he might do next!

What an idiot! Glad you're okay.

I agree, real cyclists use the road, never-mind motorcyclists.
