Hamster food expense inversely proportional to hamster size

Pets At Home have stopped stocking the dwarf hamster food, in store and online. forpets still stock it, £2.99 per 700g bag, plus £2.10 P&P up to 2 kilogramms. But charged me £4.25 P&P for two bags after I had entered PayPal password so I lost courage and sucked it up :-/ Hamster was only a fiver!

Hamsters, the inkjet printers of the pet world.

Heh :-) Their output is fairly good and consistent quality, but the range is limited.

Exactly. Well, similarly (not sure how the dpi works out equivalently)

Because I used to have hamsters in a variety of shapes and sizes, as well as gerbils, mine always got fed the generic "hamster and gerbil" mix - I think it's Wagg - that I buy from the supermarket, with no problems. Gerbils like it a lot more than Geri Gerbil too.

Watch me spoil my dwarf hamster rotten with special small food for small hamsters with delicious tasty mealworms! He gets to share Big Hamster's food at a pinch. I'm just grumpy that I can't buy a nice bag off the shelf at my local shop any more :-/

Mealworms, you say? Gerbils would love that - they're allegedly insectivores in the wild. I keep meaning to buy the big cheap containers of mealworms that Wilkinson sell, but - well, ew, mealworms, and I'd have to mix them in with the rest of the fooc.

Cats can be the same way. My Neri was a gift so cost nothing. Now the cost of her upkeep runs around €20.00 a month x 12 months x 12 years = BUT SHE'S WORTH IT!

I guess this is because food is made by humans, but hamsters are made by other hamsters, who work for less.

Hamsters work for peanuts, pity the peanuts are so expensive...

Oh great, now there's soup all over my monitor.

Why aren't you writing to complain to them about being charged extra P+P?

I'm getting into the habit of trying to always complain about these things. It's the only way to get them to fix crap software. And I often do get a refund.
