Slow Club (gig, Portland Arms, Cambridge) + Fred's House support
Once (musical, Phoenix theatre, London)

Best film by far was Boyhood. Medea was powerful and stimulated lots of post-theatre conversation despite being over 2000 years old.

What always amazes me about Medea and some of the other Greek plays is how modern they are. Not in the details, but in the emotion. Medea and Jason could be facing each other working out custody in a family court. I was talking about the play with a woman I train with after a father murdered his two daughters (relationship breakdown, custody issues, probable mental health issues) several streets away. Humans have done a lot technologically in the last 2000 or so years and our cultures have changed to some extent, but emotionally we're still right there.
