May have told you this before, but a friend was once looking after someone else's hamster and let it out to run around his living room. It went beneath the radiator, and failed to reappear. When we looked, it had vanished entirely. Then we noticed the bulge making its way slowly up the wall, behind the wallpaper...

Eek! It seems that it would be easy to capture a hamster in the wallpaper, but that the cleanup afterwards would be extensive.
