Harold and Maude is a classic of subversive 1970s cinema. Haven't seen Birdman yet. The rest are all fine choices.

Edit: Ah, just noticed the Resident Evil instalment. Haven't seen it, not sure I ever will.

Harold and Maude was great, not the schmaltz I expected. The Resident Evil series is my unexpected good find of the year - I bought them cheap from a charity shop as treadmill material (not too complex, ok with subtitles because treadmill noisy, hordes of advancing undead make me walk faster). It has a colour as recognisable as the old Technicolors, and some super shots of grand scale, dizzying pullbacks, massive swarms of birds, balletic slow motion.
Like this. I like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yM5H_xavts (opening 3 mins of film 5)
