Double Century

Today I spotted Number 200 in CNPS. I forget exactly when I started this game, but I know it is a lot slower than when I have played it in the past. I've never got to such a high number before, and I might as well continue despite it being most terribly, terribly sad. Will I reach 999 before all the old-style car number plates disappear?

Am suffering a bit with my back, having eating some dodgy potato salad at a barbecue (dodgy in that it contained creme fraiche or sour cream or something). I'm not dead, but my back is noticeably more fragile; I cannot bend for long enough to fill or empty the washing machine, and when I went clothes shopping I was only able to try on three items before it got too painful. Bah. I am trying to treat it kindly, and hope it will be strong again by Thursday for the big flyout!

Sometimes, if I'm going on a really long drive, I look for domain names in alphabetical order. So I look at the lorries who are sharing the road, hunting for an A, and I might spot one which has "www.asda.co.uk" printed on the side -- so then I can look for a B, such as "www.bt.com" and so on. You can't count ".co.uk" or ".com" as a C, of course.

When I drove to Glasgow and back at Easter (which, for the purpose of the game, I treated as a single journey) I got as far as P. I don't think there are many Qs about.

When we drove to Glasgow and back at Easter I didn't see a single bloody number! Well, not the single number I was looking for...

It's always the yummy things that are bad for us :-(

OTOH we did get thanks from [livejournal.com profile] fjm for having burgers she could eat (homemade, so no fillers). Win some, lose some :-(

My Mum and I used to do this back in the 60s - I think she got to about 400 over the years. I find it amusing that there's such organisation going into something so simple!
