No Coke!!!!!!!! [sponsored event]

Have you ever suggested I try giving up Coke? And seen my horrified cries at the idea of my beloved beloved Coke being viciously denied to me? It turns out I'd do it for money - for charity. For ten days Sep 13-23 (looks like eleven! I must check the exact times!) I'm doing the RNLI's H2Only Challenge, where I drink only water for the whole time. No tea, no coffee, no booze, no fizzy drinks, no juice. Mostly not a problem, I can go ten days without alcohol and barely notice. But losing my daily 2 litres of Diet Coke/Dr Pepper Zero is going to be sooooooo haaaarrrrddddd. Sooooooooooooooo haaaarrrrrrrrdddddddddddd. It will be horrid and I don't want to do it.

Get on over to my Just Giving page for comedy photos and to give generously. Please. Thank you.

Having spent a few days by the sea, watching boats and kite surfers and swimmers and waves and big horrible rocks and undertows, I have a new appreciation for the RNLI. Not just rescues, they also patrol beaches for safe sea swimming.

I really can't face the hassle of creating a Just Giving account.

Can I paypal you a small donation?

That's very kind, I can easily add it then as an offline donation.

What email address should I send it to?

£ 5 sent via Paypal (I don't pay tax at present, so probably couldn't have used Local Giving even if I wanted to.)

Received, thank you :-) I'll wait a few days to upload it in case I get any more cash/PayPal donations.

So are you planning to spend the entire time asleep? lol

MOre seriously, I hope you cut down beforehand to avoid a nasty headache at the start.

Also wondering what sort of event you plan for the Resumption of the Caffeine afterwards. Ritual celebration? Big party with caffeine for everyone? A productive day where you Do All The Things????

You never know, she might decide to stick with water... Or the coke consumption may drop dramatically.

People keep saying I ought to cut down, that it would be better for me, but I'm sure I don't believe them.

Better or not, I bet it would save a small fortune in cash!

(You'd have to donate an awful lot to my favourite charity to persuade me to drink 2 litres a day of coke)

I accidentally had no caffeine for half a day and spent it like a slug on the sofa!

I'm hoping to get through it by blooming well dragging myself out of the house first thing every day for a light walk - I still have 50 episodes of Night Vale to catch up on. Nothing too stressful until 18th, except darn - two evening film shoots on the first two days...

Actually it will be handy to have reduced my dependence; there's the challenge, then a weekend (party!), then I go straight into jury service.

Decaffeinated Bridget?

Good luck. Are you allowed fizzy water? I find it much easier to drink than tap water.

No fizzy water. I wonder if chocolate coated coffee beans are technically allowed... Thanks :-)
