Friendcycle: old routers

How useful are old routers? I have three - two Netgear and a Be box. One of the Netgear ones has a 2007 sticker on it. I've had a look online and don't think I want to set up a network switch or NAS or repeater, any use to anyone/any use on Freecycle/just take them to small electricals recycling?

It’s worth having one spare router that can replace your current router, in case it fails. Wifi devices from a decade ago are worthless — they can’t handle modern wifi standards.

Thank you. (I don't have old gear, but I know people who may -- and who are less techie than I am.)

I expect everyone has old routers in their cupboard. I think I have 3. A standalone switch is more useful, but also so cheap, people wouldn't thank your for them. Keep the newest one for a spare, bid the rest
