Tonight, Matthew, I will be mostly nursing blisters. Bah to shoes.

Do what I do. Buy men's shoes - they're always more comfortable.

Just stuff fashion and say farewell to blisters.

Bridget tries not to snap your head off for trying to be helpful, but in this instance your comment is anti-helpful. They were mens shoes. And were much more comfortable than the womens. And still hurt.

I do not need suggestions for solving the problem.

Aw, thanks. I was dreading getting into a 20-comment fight about what shoes I ought to have bought in hindsight, and why I should not be snappish.

I shall go away for a bit until I'm less of a bear with a sore head (and feet).

Also, happy birthday!

I know the feeling. My new boots decided to try eating my left heel, which wouldn't have been any problem if I'd stopped orbiting long enough to notice.

Instead the first time I paid any real attention to what I'd done was when it stung when I got into the bath on Saturday morning. :-(

As I was walking painfully home I must admit to having jealous thoughts about your new boots. "Mutter-grumble-not-fair-he-knows-his-size-and-can-just-buy-DMs-on-the-Internet-it's-not-fair-ow-ow". Does anyone in fact have magic feet like that?

Not me, alas. After three weeks of wear for, oh, 14 hours a day, my allegedly size 9 desert combat boots now seem to be broken in. I say 'allegedly', because they're a darn sight tighter than any other size 9 footwear I've worn.

But yes, I've been doing a fair bit of hobbling around too.
