Today I completed the challenge of sorting out the big box(es) of miscellaneous cables, working out what they are, coiling, bagging and labelling them, and setting aside any that are no use or that I have in excessive quantity. This will be one of those rare weeks where I can tell an RJ11 from what is commonly referred to as an RJ45 from a BT style plug. I probably don't need four pairs of audio cables but I've run out of energy to throw them away. And for the moment, at least, I've decided you can never have too much co-ax. I like co-ax; it reminds me of playing with oscilloscopes at University and makes me feel a tiny bit clever.
T should be delighted and astonished at how much floor space and shelf space there is in the study. I hope this will distract her from the way "her" desk has two old PCs and monitors on, which I hope to get working and maybe clean up and maybe use for something/send for recycling.
But now I can put one small box of "cables, miscellaneous" on a high shelf in a cupboard knowing I'll easily be able to find something if I want it.
